2-Day Desert Tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga

Ouarzazate → Skoura → Kalaat M’Gouna → Dades → Todra → Merzouga

We leave Ouarzazate early along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping first in the Skoura palmery at Kasbah Amridil — the fortified house printed on the old fifty-dirham note. Continue through Kalaat M’Gouna, where the Rose Valley perfumes the whole town each May, and into the Dades, with its strange folded rock formations. After lunch we walk beneath the 300-metre cliffs of the Todra Gorge, then push east through Tinejdad and Erfoud to Merzouga. Camels are waiting: an hour’s trek over the dunes, sunset from a high crest, then dinner and drums at camp.

Merzouga → Rissani → Todra → Dades → Ouarzazate

Climb a dune for sunrise, then breakfast at the edge of the erg. We drive back west with fresh stops — the Rissani souk and the Sijilmassa ruins, a fossil workshop in Erfoud, the Todra and Dades gorges in very different morning light, and the Rose Valley again. Late afternoon we reach Ouarzazate, where the tour ends at your hotel or at the Atlas Film Studios if you would like to finish there.
