Overview

What to expect on this 4-day private tour from Fes

Quick Answer

This four-day crossing is the ideal way to traverse Morocco for travellers who want the full Sahara experience, not just a quick dash to the dunes. From Fes you travel over the Middle and High Atlas to the Erg Chebbi dunes, spend two nights in the desert, then continue west through gorge and kasbah country to Marrakech. The extra day buys a full 4x4 desert day among nomad families and hidden oases, plus unhurried time at the Todra and Dades gorges and UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou. Fully private, at a pace set entirely by you.

After sunrise and breakfast at camp, a full 4x4 tour takes you deep into the Merzouga region. You'll meet a semi-nomadic Berber family, visit the old Mifis mines, and stop for tea with Bedouins behind the dunes. In Khamlia village you'll hear the hypnotic Gnawa rhythms of sub-Saharan Morocco before your guide shows you the finest corners of the Erg Chebbi sand sea.
